JOEY TOOGOOD

Body Prints
Toogood began creating body prints early into her career as an artist; in University, she used waterbased acrylic paint to create body prints on canvas and dry wall. In May 2024, Toogood produced nude body prints in coconut oil and powdered charcoal.

52
Tryptic series, Acrylic paint on a wall, December 2021
"52" was a series of body prints in black water based acrylic paint. Toogood wanted to incorporate rules into this playful action painting; the artist is 5"2 so she ran at a wall 52 times for each piece, jumping with arms outstretched to take up as much wall space as she could.
This piece was made on the walls of the studio at UCA Farnham, so "52" was removed at the end of the year. Although it only exists in photographs, this temporary piece still stays with her due to its personal significance.
